This piece is a reflection of one of the most known romantic painters of medieval subject matter — Waterhouse! He was a late PRB influenced artist, and this painting is based off of his famous take on Tennyson’s heart wrenching ballad, “The Lady of Shalott”. I decided to name this after the line where the curse is mentioned, as it seemed fitting for the composition.
