Hello guys! Painting with color layers is the technique demonstrated in this process video. I start out with a tonal painting (tonal paintings are limited palette pieces I like to do because it helps focus more on harmony or atmosphere). It's actually a lot easier to do it this way if you are balancing a lot of different colours and maybe not nailing the hue or saturation. It's similar to when folks color grey scale paintings, only looks less dead because warmth is already built in to the piece!
